Machine Learning

Description: Delve into the world of Machine Learning (ML) in this interactive workshop. ML is one of the fastest growing areas of computer science to date. Over the last five years, ML began moving from the research realm to real-world applications, such as voice assistants, self-driving cars, movie recommendations, Robotics, Face ID, etc.; however, with booming interest, comes misconception. The term, “Machine Learning” is widely used, but massively misinterpreted. This workshop will work to clarify what ML really is and how it can benefit you.

This workshop is ideal for individuals interested in knowing more about ML and how it can benefit their research and/or operations. No prerequisites are required to attend the course, just an interest in ML and an open mind. In this workshop, you will become familiar with the fundamentals of ML, including what ML really is and is not, when to use ML and how to leverage ML to problem-solve. The session will focus on some of the most fascinating aspects of this topic. You will learn methods for understanding and preparing your data and generating predictions. After we have completed the sessional portion of the workshop, you will use your newly acquired knowledge to build a predictive model to predict customers' response to a marketing campaign as a ML demo. The construction of this demo will use the innovative technologies of the RapidMiner Platform.

Prerequisites: None.
