Upcoming Workshops 2016 Compute Ontario HPC Summer School. The Compute Ontario Summer School on High Performance and Technical Computing is an annual educational event for students, post-docs and researchers in the areas of computational science. Jointly organized by SHARCNET (Ontario-West), SciNet(Ontario-Central) and the Centre for Advance Computing (Ontario-East), attendees are provided with opportunities to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing. This all-week series of workshops will cover a range of high-performance computing related subjects. Recent Workshops Software Carpentry @ Queen's This was a three-day workshop giving a thorough introduction to multiple aspects of scientific programming in the framework of Software Carpentry style lectures and hands-on labs: Using the bash shell on Unix systems Version control with GIT Workflows with make Programming with Python, including parallel Programming with R, including visualization The workshop took place at Queen's University, Feb 17-19, 2016 and was the first such event at Queen's. The third day content had an emphasis on biology applications.
