2016 Ontario HPC Summer School East

Jointly organized by the Compute Ontario HPC Consortia (HPCVL, SciNet, SHARCNET) and the University of Ottawa.

The Summer School on High Performance and Technical Computing is an annual educational event for students, postdocs and researchers in the areas of computational science. Jointly organized by SHARCNET (Ontario-West), SciNet (Ontario-Central) and the Centre for Advanced Computing (Ontario-East), attendees are provided with opportunities to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing.

This all-week series of workshops will cover a range of computing related subjects, such as Introductions to OpenMP, MPI, programming of GPUs, Python programming, R programming, Visualization with ParaView and more. Courses will be offered in a dual-stream format. Here is a preliminary Time Table. Note that details are still subject to change, so please re-visit this or the main page.

Important: The workshops have a hands-on lab component that will be conducted on servers supplied by the HPC consortia. Since the lecture rooms do not provide work stations, participants are asked to bring laptops that have an SSH client installed.
