The 2017 Compute Ontario Summer School
on Scientific and High Performance Computing (East)

Queen's

The Compute Ontario Summer School on High Performance and Technical Computing is an annual educational event for graduate/undergraduate students, postdocs and researchers who are engaged in compute intensive research. Held geographically in the west, centre and east of the province of Ontario, the summer school provides attendees with the opportunity to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing on modern HPC platforms.

This year's "East Event" takes place at Queen's University and is organized and hosted by the Centre for Advanced Computing. The five full-days dual stream summer school offers intensive courses on a number of selected subjects, including

  • Programming distributed systems using message passing (MPI);
  • Programming shared memory systems with threads (OpenMP and P-threads);
  • Programming GPGPUs (CUDA);
  • Common programming languages: Modern Fortran, R, Python, and Julia;

This is the local information page for the East instalment of the Summer School, which is hosted by the Centre for Advanced Computing at Queen's University (formerly HPCVL).

The main event page for all three instalments is hosted by SHARCNET.
